This recipe has taken 2 years to perfect and get right. And it is worth the wait. Seriously, if these bad boys don’t increase your milk supply, no lactation cookie will. This is not your standard off the shelf lactation cookie recipe. Oh no, this is a super charged milk making lactation cookie.
What is the secret to our cookies being so damn exceptional? It is a couple of things. Firstly, we use a brewers yeast that blends seamlessly into baked cookies. It is an expensive, high quality yeast that is nothing like the brewers yeast you get from woolies, the health food shop or online. This is important because it means I could include way more brewers yeast in this recipe than others use which equals more milk making goodness. Super important when you are trying to increase your supply. What makes our lactation cookies stand out from the pack is not only our large quantity of brewers yeast, it is what else we put in them beyond the required brewers yeast, oats and flaxseed.
Our cookies contain our malt extract (renowned for increasing supply) and our coconut milk powder (also a great supply booster). The same two ingredients in our malt drinks with all our wonderful reviews.
The addition of these two ingredients, combined with the large quantity of brewers yeast in this lactation cookie means you have a super charged lactation cookie like nothing else you have tried before.
Eating this lactation cookie leaves no stone unturned. They are so jam packed full of milk making ingredients that when you have these you have complete confidence that you are eating the right cookie to boost your supply.
How are these different from other lactation cookies?
These lactation cookies came out of my own personal challenge to get a cookie to work for my supply. I have used the same expensive ingredients in the large quantities that I used to increase my breast milk. High quality ingredients in large quantities plus the additional benefits of malt and coconut make this like no other cookie you have had before. These were created from scratch as a precise lactation cookie, not just a cookie rejigged and dressed up as a lactation cookie with some brewers yeast, oats and linseed added in.
Before I made this lactation cookie, absolutely no cookie worked for me and I had tried them all! I kept trying because I HAD to increase my supply. The measurement on the side of the bottle doesn't lie when you are exclusively pumping, it is your only indication so I had a very reliable measure of what did and didn't impact my supply. When I perfected this lactation cookie, I ate 3 (maybe 4 but who is counting right...!?!) and my night time pump I pumped over 200ml per boob which was absolutely HUGE for me.
This is not your standard off the shelf lactation cookie or recipe that you fine online that has a placebo effect, this cookie works!
These are boutique, high quality products that work, each bag of pre mix is individually measured to ensure the same amount of high quality ingredients are in every batch, every time. Pre mix allows you to bake at home when you want them and fresh baked cookies taste so much better than a premade lactation cookie You can also freeze the final cookie if you want to have some on standby. But honestly these taste so damn good, none of them will make it to the freezer.
We've done the hard work for you! You don’t need to have any baking skills for these (my kids make them!) One bowl, add all wet and dry ingredients together, roll and bake.
Can I add mix ins?
Absolutely! To make choc chip lactation cookies add in ½ cup (more or less to your taste) of milk chocolate drops to the mix when you put the dry ingredients in the bowl.
To make double chocolate lactation cookies add in ¼ cup each of dark chocolate and white chocolate chips and ¼ cup of cacao (or cocoa) to the dry mix in the bowl.
You can experiment with other flavours too like white chocolate and macadamia (1/4 cup of each).
How do I make them?
It couldn’t be easier to have tasty fresh lactation cookies at home in 20 minutes.
You simple add the dry ingredients to a bowl and follow the instructions to add in the wet ingredients:
- Pre heat oven to 170 degrees celcius
- Add lactation cookie pre mix to a bowl
- Add mix in if desired
- Add 1 egg
- 85g Melted butter
- 25g Melted coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
You can use all butter or all coconut oil, just watch the consistency as you don’t want the mixture too wet and not be able to be rolled.
Roll into balls, place on baking tray, allow room to spread and press slightly with a fork
Bake in oven at 170 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until slightly golden on top (actual baking time will vary, keep an eye on them).
Let cool & enjoy!
